Gas Prices Will Slow Auto Sales?

Good news, domestic auto sales are up by 27 percent!  February 2011 sales are the strongest since August 2009 during ”cash for clunkers” .  GM leads the sales gain against  Toyota Motor Corp, that is bouncing back from depressed sales from over a year ago.  The dealers and manufacturers both fear higher gas prices may stall auto sales or shift demand to smaller more fuel economic vehicles which will reduce profits.  If this happens it could affect GM and Chrysler’s financial recovery as well as stall the U.S. economy.  Let’s hope oil companies greed does not send our economy spinning.

On a brighter note I just got back from a vacation in Florida and got to see some of the new GM models!!  All I can say is awesome and I hope the American consumers continue to support our domestic manufacturers!
